If you've been looking for some tutorials to get you started with the IT Disaster Recovery Planning process for your organisation, then you'll be pleased to know that a new site has been launched to provide just that kind of help. The site www.disaster-recovery-guidance.com   was launched on the 28 October 2008 after the publisher and author of the site, Gareth Eagar, found that there was a lack of easy to understand guides to assist with setting up a Disaster Recovery plan. While there are many books on Disaster Recovery, and hundreds of vendor specific white papers that discuss the topic, it was really difficult to find tutorials that took someone through the full process - from planning, through documentation and into testing a plan. The site currently features numerous tutorials covering the foundation phases (an overview of Disaster Recovery planning, setting objectives, selecting a strategy, etc) and also a tutorial giving an overview of the documentatin required for a plan. Over the following weeks additional tutorials will be added covering some of the more advanced topics, such as testing and revising the plan. Gareth has also noted that any Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity professionals who would like to add their expertise to the site in the form of a tutorial would be welcome - they can email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it for more information. |
